East of Transylvania

Jim-jams in Transylvania

After the party,
it’s cold-poultice time
at Dracula’s castle.

The window feeds
the day to him
in bite-sized pieces;

in his chamber,
makes the darkness
more digestible.

A curtain’s twitch
gives nervous life
to fingers of light:

leeches searching
the bed for
his bloodless heart.
