I would have thought, for any
child. For all sorts of things,
including poems, begin with
dreams. Most of the pieces here
have already been published
in various literary magazines.

1940, and grew up in rural War-
wickshire. Between 1962 and
1972, he lived in the Kanto re-
gion of Japan and worked as a
news editor at The Japan Times.
